thoughts
They say sharing is caring.
Thus, I herewith share with you some of my thoughts,
reflections, experiences and others in this
crazy journey we call life.
It acts partly as a blog for myself and partly as a way to share knowledge with others.
Some of you might relate, and some of you might not.
Either way, it could act as a little dose of inspiration or a source of entertainment only.
11 Years of Switzerland
A few days ago, I celebrated my 11th year in Switzerland. It is crazy to think that I have spent now a third of my life in this country. A sliding door that opened many others to come. A decision that shaped my reality.
Self-Portrait
I took myself as the subject in front of the camera to try out the options. Not only for convenience reasons (being able to take my time, without distractions) but also to put myself through the experience of the ones who will be sitting there at a later stage.
Re-setting
From feeling powerful, in control, and in the possibility of doing everything that I want. To question all the steps, asking myself how I could contribute more, to sleeping an average of 10 hours a day (compared to my usual 7), reading and watching series in a way I probably never done before. Slowing down, literally...
The world doesn't always have to make sense
Confusion and being in a place of having to assort situations never experienced before initially causes a certain discomfort in our brains. ā Sometimes even desperation or resistance, wanting to fight back or to figure out some categorization by searching the drive of countless memoriesā¦
City Lights
Viewing things from a distance sometimes helps us to receive new insights, new perspectives. Only a small step back or to the side can already have a substantial impact. Taking the time to stop, to breath, to simply observe, to let thoughts, conversations, struggles and insights sit in.
Flexitarian?
I went from a savage meat eater to a vegetarian to a consequent vegan. Until I found that which could best describe me, a flexitarian - for some of you it may be a familiar term, for others, it might still be a confusion of what it actually means.
Pre-Nostalgia
Every time I am about to leave something, someone or somewhere behind to move forward, a certain" pre-nostalgia" takes place. It could be a job, a person, a city or, as in the past few months, a hotel. This is especially true for places I had the opportunity to live fully and have called home for a specific duration of time.
Co-creating
As in any job, there are things we enjoy doing and others we disdain. More and more, I am realizing that which gives me drive at work (ā¦) What is that which brings you to the state of flow, which makes you forget everything around and focus solely on the present moment?
The meditative state of planting
Just like our lives. We choose the seeds we want to plant today to start harvesting in the future. Things donāt come from one day to another. It needs dedication, commitment and care, to nourish, to water, to give the necessary space to grow.
The art of cooking
How admirable it is the job of a cook - spending hours in the kitchen, carefully choosing the best ingredients, preparing and creating unique combinations to nourish our bodies with soul food.
Beginnings
The last few months have been a rollercoaster of changes, emotions, experiments and self-understanding. Three months ago, I would have never imagined being where I am now. I guess one could say I am taking that leap of faith that many talk about.
Behind the scenes
When staying in a hotel, many take for granted the hard work occurring behind the scenesāhours of preparation, cleaning, organising, scheduling, coordinating.ā ..
Discovering Lugano
Morcote - voted as the prettiest village in Switzerland back in 2017.ā During the past weeks, the Hotel Delfino Lugano has been hosting me on their premise to create content of the hotel and the region.ā
30s
This week Iāve reached, what I would rate as, a significant milestone - I made it to my 30s. ā
Some say the 30s are the new 20s; others say it is merely the best time of our lives. A time to start harvesting the little seeds that have been planted the past years and decide which ones will be planted next.ā ā
Experiencing the Journey
Today, exactly two years ago, when I woke up, I had what many would define as everything one needs for a successful lifeā¦However, little did I know yet that, that day was a turning point and the beginning of an exciting self-discovery journey.
Imagine a world where the walls would be put down
The more I come across different people, the more amazed I get with the uniqueness of individuality.
Thoughts, patterns, behaviours, beliefs...we all have our fears, our weaknesses, our inner desires, our never spoken about dreams. Some of us are good at putting these into words, while others contemplate rather than express.
