focus on what it brings you

November 1, 2025

Switzerland doesn’t stop amazing me.

I’ve tried to leave the country several times — always with the thought that, for some reason, this place wasn’t for me. Yet life, for various reasons, always ended up bringing me back.

The last time, at the end of 2023, I returned with the idea that I would leave again after one year (to who knows where).

I didn’t.

After nine months in my apartment, I realised that one year wouldn’t be enough for everything I still wanted to do. That’s when adjusting my apartment became a milestone — transforming it from a functional living space into an actual home. A decision to stay longer than I had planned.

I’ve still found myself wondering how long I’ll stay this time. But, a month ago, I made a decision — or perhaps it was a realisation: this is my place.

At least for now.

There’s still so much I don’t know, and even more to explore. As small as Switzerland is, it has an incredible amount to offer — nature, culture, and art. There’s still plenty to learn here before leaving. Of course, it comes with its challenges too, but everywhere (and everyone?) does. As a friend recently told me (in another context, but perfectly applicable here):

“Focus on what it brings you, not what it lacks.”

Since that aha moment, my desire to explore has only grown stronger — a hunger to discover all the little corners, especially now, as leaves begin to fall and the colours of the trees slowly fade, soon to be covered in white sugarcoats.

The colours, the mountains, the rivers, the lakes, the forests. The stories, the legends, the languages, the dialects. Each season brings its own beauty; each region, its own culture.

Switzerland, don’t stop amazing me. I’m excited and curious to see everything else there is still to discover.

*do you know any Hotels or businesses that could strengthen their (visual) storytelling? places that have much more to offer than their current pictures show? PM for co-creations and/or fine art prints.
